We're delighted to announce our 2014 Theme!!
The votes are in and we think you're going to be as excited as we are about this year's theme "A Musical Road Trip - Hear America Sing".
From the mountains, to the prairies, to the oceans white with foam, we will visit the major centers of music in America. New York City for musicals, Detroit for Motown, Nashville for Country, the Great Smokey Mountains for Appalachia, Cleveland for Rock and Roll and Chicago for the Blues. In the South we'll explore Gospel, Jazz from New Orleans, Rags from Texas, Native American music from Albuquerque and the Muscle Shoals Sound from Alabama. We'll end our journey on the West Coast, home to surf music and camp-friendly grunge!
We know campers will have a fabulous time exploring the music of our home country and guarantee (well, almost) no-one will be asking 'how much longer?'!
- This year, we are thrilled to add a new site at the Katzen Arts Center at American University in NW DC! The Center is home to AU's visual and performing arts programs and feels like it was built with us in mind. Its interdisciplinary design is ideal for the delivery of the camp program with custom rooms for dance, art, instrumental and voice classes, in addition to professional resources and performance spaces. The location, at the western corner of DC. will help reduce our waiting lists at Upton St NW DC and MD and attract new families further west in Potomac and even over the bridge in VA.
Camp will run at Katzen for Session II only. PLEASE NOTE: Due to an university-wide event, there will be NO CAMP ON FRIDAY AUGUST 1at Katzen Arts Center. Camp will therefore end on Thursday July 31.
Prices are adjusted accordingly.
- We will no longer run a camp at St Bartholomew School in MD.
