Dalcroze Studies

This renowned European method of music education, often referred to as “Dalcroze Eurhythmics,” is taught at prestigious conservatories of music worldwide. Today, Levine stands among leading American schools of music in offering Dalcroze courses.

Early Childhood & Elementary Music

Our ECEM program emphasizes learning through play and a conviction that the more fun your child has exploring music, the more effectively and deeply he or she learns. See the five big reasons your little one should take early childhood music classes at Levine.

Guitar

The Levine School offers many choices for aspiring and advancing guitarists, from acoustic and classical guitar to rock and blues on the electric guitar.

Jazz

Are you a traditionally trained student who is curious about the world of jazz or are you an experienced jazzer looking to expand your skills? If so, then Levine’s Jazz Department is the place for you with classes taught by our stellar Jazz Faculty.

Music Theory & Composition

The study of music theory and musicianship provides the foundation for a deep understanding of music as a language, creating a knowledgeable and discerning audience of music lovers who attend concerts, create, listen, play and study music over a lifetime.

Percussion

Levine’s Percussion Department offers classes and private instruction in orchestral, jazz, world percussion and drum set.

Piano

The Piano Department welcomes students of all ages, from beginners to advanced. We offer four categories of instruction: private lessons, group classes for beginners, enrichment classes for teens and adults, and performance classes for adults.

Strings

String students at Levine have an opportunity to participate in a variety of options including private lessons, chamber groups and orchestras. Continue to develop your traditional string studies or extend your string experience through specialty options in fiddle, blues, rock, jazz and salsa music.

Summer Programs

Suzuki

Dr. Shinichi Suzuki, a Japanese violinist and teacher, founded a music education movement in the 1950s based on the premise that all children are born with musical ability. The Suzuki approach is modeled after the way young children learn to communicate in their native language.

Voice

Whether you want to sing a solo, join a choir, focus on a specific style or a variety of styles to develop your voice, then Levine’s Voice Department will work with you to help safely develop your instrument. Levine offers classes for beginners and more advanced singers as well as private instruction.

Winds & Brass

Do you want to shine in your school band? Levine offers a comprehensive program for winds and brass, with exploration classes for young students, progressing to excellent private instruction and ensembles for more experienced players.
