Over 1,000 students participated in Levine’s Summer Programs
Our Summer Music and Arts Day campers explored the music of the stars, moon, sun and planets, and along the way learned how to "Catch a Falling Star" - check out more photos and videos from the music and arts camps.
Other students participated in week long sessions to perfect their skills in jazz, cabaret, electric guitar, fiddling, strings and saxophone.
Act Two Performing Arts joins Levine to form Act Two @ Levine
Act Two Performing Arts has become part of the Levine family, to form Act Two @ Levine and to offer the region’s most dynamic student musical theater program. Together, the natural blending of these two organizations will create a strong and innovative music theater educational presence, offering students performance opportunities, vocal coaching, and theater training.
Act Two @ Levine’s season will open with a production of Les Miserables with rehearsals at Levine School's Maryland campus at the Music Center at Strathmore. This production is open to all middle and high school aged students. The season will also include a Rep Theater/Showcase group c*mpani, a high school aged performing ensemble open to cast members 14 - 18 years old. Stay tuned for the announcement of an all middle school show and all high school show later this academic year. More about Act Two @ Levine.

A Look Back - 35 Years of Levine
As Levine celebrates our 35th anniversary we look back to our early days from the archives.
School Opens with Over 70 Students
The Selma M. Levine School of Music started classes in September with more than seventy students, ranging in age from four-year-olds to several adults. Students have enrolled in these group classes: beginning theory, pre-school music readiness (four and five year-olds), the young string program (six to eight year-olds), and an adult theory class. Individual instruction is being given in the following instruments: piano, violin, cello, flute, oboe, recorder, clarinet and trumpet. We have several students enrolled in a string ensemble, and new students continue to register as we go to press (Musical Moments, Levine Newsletter, October 1976)
