ECEM

Can parents observe a class before registering their children?

Unfortunately we cannot allow parents to observe classes because our first priority is our students’ experience, and having visitors may distract them. However, we do offer a 100% refund after the first class if for any reason you are not satisfied. The ECEM staff is always available to help you decide which class is most suitable.

Can my child bring a friend to music class?

Yes! We encourage our students to share their musical experiences and bring a friend of the same age to class. If your child’s friend decides to join the class, both you and the friend will have your registration fees waived for the next session’s enrolment. Please notify the teacher or the ECEM office if you plan to bring a guest.

What if I don’t see the day/time that works for my child’s schedule?

We will do our best to build a class for you if you can find four friends to join at a time and day that work best for you and your child.

What happens in the last five minutes of class?  Is it a performance?

The “Last Five Minutes” is a sharing time for families to see a sample of what the children have learned in class. This glimpse of the lesson is a valuable part of the classes that children attend without their parents or caregivers.

Do you offer birthday parties through Levine’s ECEM program?

We don’t have a formal birthday party program, as our emphasis is on our educational program and curriculum development; however, some ECEM teachers may be hired—independently—for your child’s birthday party.

Do I have to stay in the hallway when my child is in the classroom?

We encourage parents to stay nearby, in case your child needs you.

What if my child is a little timid and wants me to stay on the first day of class?

Our teachers are experts at dealing with this, but parents are welcome to help with the transition. All classes for children 3 and older are taught without parents or caregivers in the room because we know that the students learn best with other children of the same age and independently of adults.

If a teacher misses a class, what is the make-up policy?

We have specific dates scheduled on the calendar to make up classes canceled because of inclement weather or a teacher’s illness.

What if my child misses a class? Can that be made up?

Unfortunately, we cannot offer additional make-up classes for students who miss class because of illness or vacation. With so many students in our program, this would become unmanageable. We provide families with the ECEM schedule at the first class, and the calendar can be found on our website. In extenuating circumstances, we will work with families directly to find a solution.
